South Park: Phone Destroyer (review)

Great Start
First and foremost; this is a standalone mobile title, it ain't no tie-in cellphone app. South Park is an off-the-wall laugh fest, and as expected Phone Destroyer is no different. I was a bit surprised to find out this smartphone game turned out to be your run-of-the-mill card game, boosting a variety of well designed character cards and a solid leveling system. The game centers on the cowboys vs indians premise that the children of South Park have done on an earlier episode of the show. Gameplay takes a similar approach to its console counterparts, but just not as effected as say those are since those are more turn-based.
Bad End
The game (no pun intended) shows pretty much all its cards immediately at the beginning of the game. The game has a quick campaign to show all players its inner-workings, from its game-tactics to daily rewards. Honestly, I essentially approached every battle with the same tactic (even in PvP), it consisted of me immediately dragging and dropping cards as soon as they became available. The game was fun for the first few hours, but unless you're willing to devote yourself to the heart of the cards, your experience much like mines may be short-lived. Although I found my experience with this title brief, I can't deny the amount of charm this game puts in is simply phenomenal, its just so South Park!
